Why Malaysia

World-class degrees, at a fraction of UK or US cost.

For Bangladeshi students, Malaysia hits the sweet spot — quality of education, English-medium programs, multicultural campuses, low cost of living, and a visa process that actually works.

Globally ranked universities

APU, Taylor's, UCSI, INTI, Sunway, Multimedia University and more — many in the QS Top 500, with strong industry links.

Affordable tuition

Bachelor's from MYR 25,000–40,000/year (BDT 6–10 lakh) — far below UK, US, AU. Many programs offer scholarships up to 50%.

English-medium, no Malay needed

Most programs are taught in English. IELTS 5.5+ accepted; many universities accept your MOI (Medium of Instruction) certificate from Bangladesh.

3-hour flight from Dhaka

Close to home — easy holiday visits, low ticket costs, and a large Bangladeshi community already in KL.

3 intakes per year

February, May/June, and September intakes — you don't have to wait a full year if you miss one.

Part-time work allowed

Up to 20 hours/week during semester breaks — manage your living expenses while you study.

FAQ

Real questions Bangladeshi students ask us.

Do I need IELTS to study in Malaysia? +

Most universities accept IELTS 5.5–6.0. But many also accept an MOI (Medium of Instruction) certificate from your Bangladeshi school/college proving you studied in English. We confirm what your target university accepts before you spend money on IELTS.

How much money do I need to show in my bank? +

For the EMGS visa, your bank statement (in your or your parent's name, dated within 30 days) should show at least USD 4,000 — roughly BDT 4.8–5 lakh. We help you prepare the statement in the exact format EMGS accepts.

How long does the whole process take? +

From signing up with us to flying out — typically 10–14 weeks. Apply at least 3 months before your intake. Best months to start: October (for February intake), February (for May), and April (for September).

Can I work part-time while studying? +

Yes — up to 20 hours/week during semester breaks and public holidays. Most Bangladeshi students work in cafes, restaurants, retail, or as campus assistants to cover living expenses.

What does Bidesh Pathai charge? +

Counselling is free. Application support is free for our partner universities (we are paid a commission by them, not by you). You only pay your university tuition, EMGS fees, and a small processing fee for visa documentation — all disclosed upfront.

My HSC results aren't great — can I still apply? +

Yes. Foundation and Diploma pathways accept students with modest HSC/A-level results and let you continue into a Bachelor's degree. We've placed students with GPA 3.0+ in good universities — talk to us first before assuming you don't qualify.
